Sitting on the banks of the Rio Hondo

Listen to the sound of water

Take in the beauty of the Alder

Let the experience permeate your body

Feel the River wash away the weight of the world

See the colors fill you with joy as you knit together

The fibers of a new story

For this prompt, I chose to sit with the river by my house, the Rio Hondo, a tributary to the Rio Grande. I have dyed wool yarn with an Alder Tree that I set next to on the river bank, and am knitting a tapestry from that yarn, while sitting on the river bank. - Hannah Heaton
